The Comeback Kid Pt. 2
GSXR+Front+End+1.jpg

New front end is almost complete. I’m really excited at how this is turning out. These are modifications who’s cost would have been a little bit difficult to justify if the bike hadn’t been “Totalled”. The yokes & wheel were sourced from the awesome guys at Cognito Moto. The parts are top notch & I can’t say enough good things. With some ebay sleuthing I was able to put together some pretty choice pieces to finish the loadout. Of course I can’t just upgrade the front end, so next up is a new set of shocks & a rear wheel overhaul.

I never had any intention of turning this bike in to a project, but I guess fate had other plans. I capped off 2020 by getting in to my first proper motorcycle crash. I broke my right arm & the last couple months have been focused on getting myself back in working order. Now that I’m on the mend, it’s time to bring this bad boy back up to snuff. Armed with a “Total Loss” check from the great folks @Geico, the plan is to turn this thing in to something more aggressive & fun to rip around back roads with. Stay tuned!

Round 2 Pt. 3

These bars have been sitting around the shop for a long time waiting for the right bike. I think they found a home. Dropped out the fork tubes so I could fiddle with the stance & get a measurement for the springer. She’s getting there…

Round 2 Pt.2

The tail section on this bike has always been something I wanted to change, so finally getting around to it feels really good. New, shorter tail & sissy bar are all mounted up & looking exactly how I want them, really stoked about how the seat flows with the rear fender now. Next up, new front end!

Round 2

Stoked to jump back in to this bike after many years, I guess choppers are never truly “done”. This was my first Triumph & it went from my living room to the corner of the shop, where it’s been for waaaay too long. Knowing how my brain works, I’ll probably end up changing up a bunch of stuff. It’s always cool to see how your skills have progressed over time & apply them to something you’ve done in the past to make it better. This bike will also serve as an R&D platform for some of the new parts I’m developing, that will hopefully make their way on to the the site in the next several months, so keep an eye out!
